Hello hi5 team!

I've been experiencing this problem recently while doing casual adding of new friends.

Sorry, this user is not accepting friend requests at this time


hi5 allows members to set a level of privacy when receiving friend requests, and this user is currently not accepting friend requests at this time.

We all know this is a custom made message shown for people who choose the option not to receive any new friend requests.

The problem here is, most of the people whom this message is showing for, did not choose "not to receive new friend requests".

I realized this, because on their friend updates, they were still adding new friends that same day.

What I did, was to go back in the internet browser, and try again.
Then it works and the friend request is sent through. Or sometimes you must retry 2-4 times.

I don't know if this is affecting other users, but it is still happening to me.

This could hamper allot of people from adding new friends on hi5.

I think I calculated it happens to around 20-35% of the adds I try to send through.

This error has bmade using hi5 very frustrating for me this is happening in up to 60% of my frind requests so I better take my friends to facebook

Yep This message is also happening to me in 100% of my friend requests. I can't add anyone. I don't know what's the problem. I'm starting to get full of this message and I don't want to create a new profile and add all of my friends again. This must be a hi5 error.

Hi guys,

There was some bad HTML code in the 'about me' section of your profiles that was being caught by our anti-spam controls. We have removed this code and you should now be able to send friend requests.

Yeah mine was fixed too since long ago, the same day I started this topic, hi5 fixed mines.


If as Eric mentioned,.. look for some odd/bad code in your 'About Me' Section, anything you didn't put there yourself, delete it, and save the changes.

Hopefully that may solve your issue.

I checked my about me section and it did in fact have a bad code. I deleted it and now its working.
