Use this code below to hide your 'personal url':

--------------------------------------

<*style type='text/css'>

#newURL {display: none;}

<*/style>

--------------------------------------

Simply remove the * Astrix from the style tags, and this code can be placed in the editable sections of you profile.

or alternatively, in your customize CSS page without the style tags (once you don't have an active hi5 skin on).

Hope this helps,
-Andrew

urls are managed through DNS - a globally distributed database. Although the hi5 DNS machines maintain primary responsibility for mapping myname . hi5 . com to an IP address, any of the thousands of DNS machines around the world can cache urls they encounter for periods ranging from minutes to weeks. It is a process that does not work well in a dynamically changing environment. Its not like changing your hometown on a hi5 server. Once your url is requested by a client system somewhere on the planet, the mapping of that url to its IP address can is out in the wild and can't be easily recalled because the DNS machine that obtained the mapping caches it for an a period of time. The hi5 DNS box has no idea where in the world its information is being cached so it has no way of instantly recalling it. If a name is "withdrawn", that information will propagate through the system but it takes a long time to happen.
