TAMIL EELAM - NInaivil Oru Neruppu-Tamil Eelam NINAI VIRUKIRATHA TAMIL MAKKALAE. THIS IS OUR LAND. THIS IS OUR SEA. THIS IS OUR VILLAGE. WHERE IS IT NOW?
Sri Lanka, which was renamed in Sinhala in 1972, had been called as Ceylon by British during colonial times. Before 1833, the Tamil people were under different administration. They had their own kingdoms, culture and language which are very different from those of Sinhalese until 1505. The first colonial invasion took place in 1505. British brought Tamils and sinhalese under one administration in 1833 and called this new colony as Ceylon. When the British left in 1948, the 20% Tamils were left with 80% Sinhalese within a unitary country where the decisions were taken by democratic parliament system. Under this system, racially polarised Sinhalese and Tamils were ruled by the constant majority of Sinhalese against the democratic wishes of Tamils as Tamils were the constant minority. Tamil Eelam is the home land of highly religious Hindu, Christian and Islamic Tamil speaking people. Tamils of Tamil Eelam are from the ancient times, known for their trade and commerce. Tamil Eelam will be a democratic country once it become independent. Tamil Eelam is expected to be a socialist state. Just like the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Not only religious freedom, but the people are encouraged to follow their own religion by Tamil Eelam administration even under the severe war conditions and economic ban. The Christian, mainly Catholic and Hindu religious leaders are always provided all the support needed for their religious freedom. --- VIEW OF TAMIL EELAM CITIZEN! One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. It all depends on which side one look at it. But for an onlooker, he should look at the situation realistically. If one looks at the conflict and the events taking place, it would be clear in anyone's mind who the real terrorist is. Let us take a bird eye view of the two warring parties, in this case, one the Srilankan government and the other the LTTE. Srilankan government's doings: - Indiscrimate aerial bombings of Tamils dominated areas; thousands of innocent tamils had been killed and displaced (systematic ethnic cleansing of the Tamil population); - Evidences of killing old folks, women & innocent children (Deliberate attack by kfir bomber jets at Sencholai Orphanage killing innocent school girls is one such example) - Killing of aid workers - Abductions and killings of journalists and media people - Srilankan military aided white van abductions and killings of business men and members of the Tamil community - Rapes committed by the military on Tamil women folks including underaged girls - Destroying properties & livestock and and robbing of their jewelery other possessions of Tamils - indulging all forms of human rights abuses - and many more (the list is endless) LTTE's doings: - Fighting for their homeland and for Tamil's fundamental rights which were deprived to them for the past 60 years - Defending the Tamil population from the attrocities committed by the Srilankan armed forces - Bombing military installations to deter the military from killing the Tamils Considering the facts of the case and the ample evidence which are available everywhere from the sad and tragic tales of those who experienced the attrocities to the ground situation reported daily by the press, the monitoring bodies and world watchers - all of whom without any hestation point the accusing finger on the Srilankan government of committing endless horror, attrocities and crimes on the tamil population. Yet, the EU, Britain & US ban LTTE as terrorists while mildly condemning Srilankan government to stop their attrocities. Action by US is expected as US itself is labelled as the worst terrorist by more than eighty percent of the world population. But, Britain and EU considered as law makers and Britains's law and justice system is used as a benchmark by the world for its fairness and justice, yet their decision to ban LTTE this is intriquing. It is indeed sad the preservers of law and justice could not see the difference between the good and the evil. Does this reflect a fair or just verdict. Posted by T

Over 100000 Tamil civilians defying tiger orders enjoyed themselves in the carnival held at Doreiappah grounds, Jaffna. The LTTE ordered the people not to attend the fiesta through their media.
The carnival was held not only to provide fun and frolic to civilians but also to meet their requirements. The objective of the carnival titled of 'Reawakening Jaffna' was held for three days.
