With all the different applications that are showing up on hi5 is there any hope of having one which translates languages?

I use Google & Babel but they aren't very accurate & don't recognize slang.

That will be an useful application indeed. Note that we launched our inline translation tool and are now working on more languages that ever. If you use Firefox I recommend the ad-on FoxLingo for your translation needs.

Unfortunately Machine Translation is a tricky art ;-) It takes a LOT of language data to train for every single language pair. None of them yet can really handle slang, and all are still less than 85% accurate... Whoever solves this problem will be a rich man indeed :-) I, for one, can hardly wait! It would be pretty cool to have a Machine Translation app to plugin to hi5. Meanwhile, lets be grateful to our human translators everywhere -- translation is not easy.
